ABOUT COUNTRY COACH HOUSE

A Place Meant for Gathering

When we moved here, this property quickly became a favorite gathering spot for family and friends. Our love of family gatherings — and the joy and connection that come from bringing people together — inspired us to share this space beyond our own celebrations. Hosting our daughters’ weddings here showed us just how meaningful and joyful these moments can be, and we wanted that same experience for other couples, too.

At Country Coach House, every celebration is personal, heartfelt, and memorable. We take pride in helping your wedding day feel smooth and supported — from your initial visit and thoughtful planning to the moments you’ll cherish forever. On the day of your event, trusted family members and team members we know well are involved when staffing support is needed, helping everything flow seamlessly.

We’re honored to be part of your story and can’t wait to welcome you to Country Coach House.

In The Beginning

In 2014, we moved from Hampshire to this property in Burlington, Illinois — a place our family quickly said felt more homey than anywhere we had lived before. On the property stood a large, weathered shed that immediately sparked our imagination. At the time, we never could have imagined it would lead us into the world of weddings.

That same year, our daughter Juliette married Andrew, and we hosted their wedding reception right here on the property. With the help of friends and loved ones, the celebration came together with vintage décor, fresh flowers, and thoughtful details that created a perfectly magical, old-fashioned, down-on-the-farm kind of wedding. It was simple, heartfelt, and deeply meaningful — an unforgettable beginning to the many celebrations that would follow in this special place.

Becoming a Venue

In 2019, when our son-in-law, Kyle, and daughter, Jordyn, began looking for a venue that felt right for their wedding reception, the fond memories of Juliette and Andrew’s wedding day ultimately led them to celebrate their wedding at home, too. By word of mouth, the news of their wedding led to six more beautiful weddings in 2020, and Country Coach House was born. We’re so grateful to share this special place with others.

We Continue

In 2022, we celebrated another family milestone as our daughter Janelle married Erik. Following their ceremony at St. Mary’s in Huntley, we hosted their reception here at home, adding to the beautiful legacy of our family and this property.

Meanwhile, other couples, drawn to the charm, reached out to us to host their weddings. As we continued to make improvements, each celebration brought new warmth and love, building a tradition we’re honored to share with others.

Historic Roots

The farmhouse, built in 1884, was purchased by Henry and Dorothy Factly in 1940. The shed, built in 1941 for Henry’s awning manufacturing business, now serves as our charming venue. For decades, the farmhouse was the heart of the Factly family, where Dorothy hosted weekly family gatherings after church. It was the place for her family to come together to share stories, have a meal, and stay connected.

In 2020, their great-granddaughter Kara and her husband Jake were one of the first couples to celebrate their wedding here, where Kara had spent so many Sundays as a child. We were so happy and honored to welcome their family back to the place of their roots in this community.
