The Proposal That Started It All

For their 10-year anniversary, Madyson and Zak planned what seemed like a simple and meaningful way to celebrate—taking nice couple photos together. Zak even enlisted Madyson’s sister, Cora, to help photograph the moment at a local forest preserve.

But Zak had something more in mind.

As they walked through the trees searching for the perfect spot, he gently grabbed her hand, got down on one knee, and asked the question that would change everything.

Madyson’s reaction said it all—tears, joy, and an immediate “yes!”

Those “couple photos” quickly turned into something even more special: their engagement photos.

A Love Story Years in the Making

Madyson and Zak have been together for over 11 years, starting their relationship back in 7th grade on March 20, 2014.

They didn’t just fall in love—they grew up together. Through every stage of life, they’ve built a relationship rooted in commitment, friendship, and choosing each other again and again.

Why They Chose Country Coach House

When searching for the right venue, they knew exactly what they were looking for—a barn-style wedding with a true country feel.

Country Coach House gave them the best of both worlds:

  • Close enough to home for convenience

  • Far enough into the countryside for that peaceful, rustic atmosphere

It was the perfect setting to bring their vision to life.

Their Wedding Style: Dark & Romantic

Their theme—“Til Death Do Us Part”—set the tone for a beautifully moody and romantic celebration.

  • Soft, flickering flameless candles in a mix of glass vases

  • Dark, rich tones: black linens, dark burgundy runners, and deep red roses

  • Romantic ambiance throughout the space

The result was a cozy, intimate atmosphere that perfectly reflected their relationship—deep, meaningful, and timeless.

Moments They Couldn’t Wait For

Like many couples, there were a few moments they were especially excited about:

  • Their first look

  • Family photos

  • And celebrating with a fun, joy-filled reception surrounded by loved ones

Those are the moments that truly make a wedding day unforgettable.

Advice for Future Couples

Madyson and Zak shared advice that feels especially meaningful coming from a couple with such a long history together:

“Stay present, stay connected, and keep choosing each other—even when life gets busy.
Don’t feel pressured to follow advice that doesn’t fit your relationship. You know what works best for you.”

It’s simple, honest, and exactly what so many couples need to hear.
