Their Beginning

Lindsey and Alex’s story began long before their wedding day — they started as best friends and grew even closer in middle school. Lindsey always knew Alex was the one she wanted to marry, and their friendship blossomed into love when they started dating in high school. Now, after six years together and more than 12 years of knowing each other, they celebrated their wedding surrounded by family, friends, and the people who mean the most at Country Coach House in Burlington, IL.

The Proposal

It all began on Christmas morning, surrounded by Alex’s family. Lindsey opened her last gift — an empty box — and turned to look at Alex. There he was, down on one knee. The surprise, the timing, and the joy of being with family made it a perfect moment to begin forever.

The Wedding Vision

For Alex and Lindsey, this day wasn’t about a theme — it was about togetherness.
“We didn’t pick a full theme because we wanted this day to be special for us,” Lindsey shared. “Being with family is all that matters.”

Still, the day came together with a beautifully rustic-modern vibe, featuring dusty blue and light moss green touches, soft boho-inspired floral accents, and personal décor like candles, photos, and greenery centerpieces.

Why They Chose Country Coach House

“Country Coach House has everything we could imagine and more! The venue is placed almost dead center in the middle of all of our family, and the space is just stunning.”

With room to spread out, celebrate, and customize the experience, the couple brought their vision to life — surrounded by love and support.

Most Anticipated Moment

More than anything, Alex and Lindsey were excited to “be with their people.:”
We’ve been waiting for this moment, and the biggest wish we can make come true is just seeing all of our family have a great time and be there for us.” And with lawn games, signature cocktails, and a full dance floor, they absolutely delivered on that wish.

Wedding Planning Advice from the Couple

Lindsey and Alex kept things real during their planning process, facing challenges like choosing vendors and making budget-conscious decisions, but they never lost sight of what mattered.

Their advice?

  • “Don’t sweat the small things.”

  • “Trust your family and friends — don’t do everything yourself.”

  • “Stay hip to hip with your spouse all day. Greet loved ones together and soak it all in!”
